Who We Are & Our History

Sarah Wiseman Gallery is an independent contemporary art gallery in Oxford, UK, specialising in British painting, printmaking, ceramics and jewellery. Founded in 1998 by Sarah Wiseman, the gallery showcases established and emerging artists in collections, group shows and solo exhibitions. Sarah Wiseman Gallery is the largest independent art gallery selling artwork in Oxford. 

Specialism & Who We Work With

For nearly 30 years, the gallery has specialised in contemporary British art and art advisory, developing long term relationships with artists and helping collectors discover original art through curated exhibitions. Visitors include long term collectors, interior designers, art advisors, first time buyers and people coming to explore contemporary art in Oxford.

What We Do

Sarah’s approach to curating art begins with storytelling – each work unravels a narrative personal to each viewer, whether in the form of colour or composition, with a nod to exquisite craftsmanship in the technique. The gallery is a relaxed space that welcomes all levels of art knowledge, both Sarah & Erin are happy to answer any questions visitors may have about the art or the artists themselves.

Located on South Parade in Summertown, the gallery is a 5-minute drive or 10-minute bus journey from the city centre and a short distance away from neighbouring independent restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques, making it an excellent location for a short trip out of the city centre. There are carparks nearby and we are outside of Oxford’s congestion zone.
