Sarah Wiseman Gallery is delighted to announce their annual Summer Exhibition, in a celebration of variety and creativity.

'We always look forward to our Summer Exhibition, it's these lighter, brighter months that many artists feel especially inspired, so we hope that this in turn will inspire our visitors. The collection ranges from delicate landscape to more figurative works,' says gallery director Sarah Wiseman.

Exhibition highlights will include a new collection by contemporary figurative painter Clare Bonnet. Clare is best known for her semi-abstract female forms with mostly broad, gestural brushstrokes, placing the figure in ambiguous, sparse interiors. In her latest work, she has pared back her palette and explored semi-abstracted mark-making.

'Clare Bonnet is one artist working amid an exciting resurgence of contemporary figurative painting seen over the last two decades,' says gallery director Sarah Wiseman. 'We're especially excited to show her new works as she has developed in an interesting new direction; still her signature focus on the figure, but she has experimented more with technique and texture and explored some new themes.'

The Summer Exhibition also includes a new selection of works by Fletcher Prentice, whose works inspired by birds literally flew off the walls in his September 2020 solo exhibition 'The Painted Garden.'

Visitors can also look forward to seeing new landscape works by Daniel Ablitt, as well as stylish interior paintings by Alison Pullen and a host of other artistic talents.
