Elaine Jones creates expressive landscape paintings inspired by places she has travelled to, capturing the atmosphere and unpredictability of nature through movement and colour. Drawing influence from the icy expanses of Antarctica, the forests of Costa Rica, and the coastlines of Cornwall, her paintings explore the balance between wilderness, light, and emotion.
The compositions of Elaine’s works metamorphosise as she paints, applying it onto the surface through pouring, brushing and redacting it before it takes its final form. Each work takes on several forms before it reaches its final outcome.
Elaine studied Art & Design in Newcastle, Loughborough and Granada in Spain. She now lives and paints in Bristol, and has exhibited and been commissioned internationally for over two decades.
