As part of the exhibition I Do & I Undo, Sarah Wiseman Gallery will be hosting a panel discussion with the artists.
Led by Gallery Director Sarah Wiseman, this panel discussion will explore contemporary narratives of feminity and how they relate to each artists practise. Exhibiting artists are Bliss Coulthard, Emily Gibbard, Heidi Inez, Erin Rosalie Thomas, Veronica Wells and Anastassia Zamaraeva.
The event will open at 6pm, the talk will begin at around 6:30pm and will last approximately 45 minutes. Due to the gallery size and layout, all attendees must RSVP. Regular visitors are welcome into the gallery once the talk has ended. Refreshments will be provided throughout the evening.
I Do & I Undo examines themes of emotion, relationships, identity, grief, sexuality and self-expression with humour, honesty, sensitivity and strength. Through diverse artistic practices, each artist offers a distinct perspective on lived experience while challenging traditional representations of femininity.
The exhibition title references the working philosophy of the late conceptual artist Louise Bourgeois, whose practice of revisiting and reworking artworks reflected an ongoing process of personal and artistic transformation. Inspired by this approach, I Do & I Undo embraces revision, reinvention and the layered nature of identity.
