New Oxford Paintings | Christopher Farrell

We're pleased to share two new Christopher Farrell paintings of the Oxford skyline, 'New Road' & 'Christchurch'.

Both paintings are acrylic on dibond and depict Oxford in all its glory. The city’s well-known college rooftops are outlined in Christopher’s distinct architectural drawing style, his painterly mark making echoes the beauty of Oxford from a bird’s eye view. The vivid orange and turquoise palette of both paintings hint towards the glow of an Oxford sunset, delicate dot work illuminating the distant view.

Christopher uniquely combines the latest digital technology with historical materials and techniques, working with Photoshop, oil on copper and Goldpoint. Old masters are among his current influences, including Canaletto whose celebrated views of London have inspired Christopher's new paintings, drawings and digital artworks. Fast evolving skylines with a dynamic mix of contemporary and period architecture provides the basis for Christophers current work.

Both new paintings are available to view online or in the gallery.
