It is an exciting time of year with a stream of new works coming into the gallery in the run up to Christmas. We start November with new collections at the gallery by abstract artist Charlotte Cornish, new prints by Clare Halifax and a new ceramic collection by Yuta Segawa.

The Christmas exhibition opens officially opens on 25th November.

Charlotte Cornish's new paintings bring a rich bright jewel tones of colour to the gallery. Her complex layering of delicate glazes of paint takes many months to build into a final work, creating a intricate colour stories within each work.

The physicality of the paintings comes from the pouring technique she has mastered, pools of colour bump into each other on the surface, revealing and concealing the colours beneath. The drama comes from her signature finishing flourish of dramatic lines.

The beautiful new collection of silkscreen prints by Clare Halifax focuses on her love of botanicals. She delights in the lush leafy greens of the flora and fauna of the botanical houses while using their unique structure to create delicate compositional balance. Individual screenprints of plant studies are finished by hand with striking patterned backgrounds and touches of colour on the leaves.
