Anastassia Zamaraeva explores touch, memory, home, grief and gender through contemporary ceramic sculpture. Her practice investigates clay's ability to connect physical experience with the unconscious, while craftsmanship remains central to her work.

Anastassia discovered ceramics as a child, taking evening classes after school before returning to it when she moved to London as an adult. Also working as an art therapist, Anastassia allows her intuition and subconscious to guide the imagery. A recent residency at Revue Studios working alongside painters encouraged Anastassia to take an illustrative approach to her sculptures. Inspired by the etchings of Paula Rego and Kathe Kollwitz, she sgraffito’s drawings from her sketchbook onto her forms, carving her own stories into them.

Anastassia has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, her work is held in private collections, and she is currently undertaking a residency at Revue Studios in London.
