Kimmy Hussey’s paintings balance imagination and observation encompassing dreamlike abstraction. Her compositions range from vivid landscapes to playful still life, all of which are bound together by bold use of colour and strong form.
Kimmy’s work reflects a distinct colourist approach, translating emotion and a sense of place into tonally layered, luminous imagery. Her paintings evoke both intimacy and expansiveness, balancing atmosphere with abstraction. Kimmy works both en plein air along Cornwall’s coastline and beyond as well as from her studio in St Ives.
Having studied at both Leeds College of Art & University of Arts London, Kimmy’s background is in set design for screen, laying the foundations for her skills in composition, storytelling and visual aesthetic. She now lives and works in Cornwall, UK.
