Printmaker Lindsey Moran specialises in exploring the relationship between printmaking and photography. Carrying her camera everywhere she goes, she is drawn to exploring the influence of light on both natural and man-made environments, with her black and white photographs forming the basis of her printmaking.. With a technical interest in photographic processes old and new, Lindsey's research has always influenced the direction of her work. Lindsey now works predominantly with photopolymer - a resin that changes properties when exposed to light- experimentally combining the technique with chine collé and archival inkjet printing.
Lindsey is fascinated by the evolution of an image once captured, from exposure to preparing the printing plate with the photopolymer resin, to the depth of the acid bite and the final proofing.
Lindsey Moran gained a BEd Hons. in Art and Education at University College Chester where she specialised in Printmaking and received the Academic Award for Art. She was invited to stay on as a Research Fellow to investigate ‘The Role of the Computer in Fine Art Printmaking’. She also gained a master’s degree from Liverpool University
Her work is widely admired in the printmaking world and has been awarded many prizes in print exhibitions. She has exhibited extensively in the UK and is currently based in Liverpool.
