We are proud to announce 'Twilight', a solo exhibition by Ade Adesina of recent works and collaborations. Please join us for the opening on Saturday 7th March between 12-4pm in the presence of the artist.
Ade creates often monumental lino-cut prints that juxtapose motifs from his native Nigeria, such as the baobab tree, with buildings and connecting bridges from cities around the world. These complex works are a commentary on the human impact on earth. His visions have a surreal and dream-like beauty; in his prints he has turned the earth turned on its head with whales and sharks swimming through the air, scorched deserts scattered with sinking ships. He says that ‘issues such as pollution, climate change, religion, endangered species, human survival and adaptation are things that I have always focused on in my work.’
