Fletcher Prentice is best known for his effervescent, lavishly painted flower-scapes; gloriously layered and tangled foliage, often dotted with garden birds or hovering insects. His loose, yet detailed painting style describes a constant, shifting movement.
Take a look at the exhibition catalogue for his solo exhibition 'The Painted Garden' which includes all available paintings, essays on Fletcher's practice and sources of inspiration, as well as a link to our podcast recorded in his garden in Hertfordshire. Do have a look - we hope you enjoy it!
