Spring Exhibition: New works by Angie Lewin, Alison Pullen and Veronica Wells

Overview

Our Spring Exhibition reflects the changing season as we present bright and vibrant new works by Angie Lewin, Alison Pullen and Veronica Wells as well as new collections of ceramics by Mollie Brotherton, Ant & Di Edmonds - Tydd Pottery, Clare Nicholls and a range of colourful jewellery by Isla Clay.

We are very pleased to include new works by distinguished printmaker Angie Lewin. Since her solo exhibition at the gallery last September, Angie has created a number of exquisite new screenprints and wood engravings. The detail in plant life and nature is at the heart of her work, pattern and rhythm of natural forms, all observed in intimate detail.

We have new mixed media works of interiors by Alison Pullen, some from famous Oxford buildings such as the School of Divinity and Christchurch. As always, the light in the composition plays a crucial role, creating striking and fascinating works.

Veronica Wells have completed a number of portraits of women inspired by the images that we see in popular culture, a curated and idealised view of femininity. The paintings are strong in coulour, mixing broad, simple brushwork with finer details.

Our new ceramics by Mollie Brotherton and Ant & Di Edmonds - Tydd Pottery are as beautiful as ever but feature some new elements in glaze and colour. We are very excited to include a range of large plates by Clare Nicholls, exquisitely decorated with birds, and to introduce a range of  jewellery by Isla Clay including necklaces, brooches and ear ring studs made from colourful ceramic.
