Helen Fay studied for her MA in Natural History Illustration at The Royal College of Art. The rich, monochromatic dry point prints capture the magnificence of the natural world in a timeless yet contemporary way. Helen Fay's many awards and exhibitions are a testament to her unique approach and talent.

EDUCATION

1990-92 Royal College of Art, MA (RCA) Natural History Illustration
            Winner of 1992 Shiela Robinson Memorial Prize for drawing
1987-90 Sunderland University BA Hone in Fine Art, Printmaking
            Including exchange study at the Hague Academy of Art, The Netherlands
1986-1987 Newcastle College of Art & Design, Foundation Studies in Art & Design

TRAINING

1990     British Museum of Natural History, London. Course in the History of Natural History  Art
1988     Two week placement at the Charlotte Press, Newcastle Upon Tyne

INTERNATIONAL

1997    One month drawing and visiting the printmaking studios in South Australia and Victoria
1996    Visit to the Juan y Pilar Miro Foundation, Mallorca as a representative of the Oxford  Printmakers Co-operative
1994    Drawing trip to the Rajasthan Cultural Research Institute, near Jodhpur, India.
1992    Member of the ‘Flor del Bosque’ Rainforest Conservation Trust expedition to Los Cedros cloud forest reserve, Ecuador.

1994-97 Technician/manager at Oxford Printmaker’s Co-operative
1993     Part-time tutor in HND Natural History Illustration, Sunderland University.
